Central Anatolia

I wrapped up my internship at Gordion and made my way to meet Tom in Ankara. He spent the morning touring Anitkabir while I worked on my thesis. Then we spent some time in the Ankara Kale, the old castle, where the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is located. Next, we returned to Gordion, and Tom was able to visit the site I've been working at for the last month.

The Ankara Kale, the old castle.
If timed just right, you can sit on top of the kale and enjoy an amazing view of the city while half a dozen mosques each transmit their own call to prayer. Quite magnificent.
